Cinderford Band is based in the glorious Forest of Dean in the heart of Gloucestershire, England. Our band is deep rooted with the community and within the brass band movement of the area.

We are a popular and dedicated amateur brass band, which is self funded and steeped in history since the forming of our band in the late 1800's. Some of the most notable achievements in our long and proud history, range from playing in the National Brass Band Finals at the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London, through to the modern New Symphony Hall in Birmingham. The Cinderford Band also competed in the very first brass band contest which was held at the Crystal Palace in 1900. This was invitation only, and the band came 4th for which we are very proud of. To actually get there was a challenge in it's self, considering the notorious travelling difficulties at the time. This is what started the brass band movement in the area. The band currently consists of approximately 28 members in the Senior Band, but new talent is encouraged to progress through our Academy Band, which provides us with new members all the time. Our band and committee is dedicated to obtain the best service to our customers and the public, and to give a wide variety of music for all tastes. We are also proud to own one of the largest libraries of Brass Band music in the south-west, so that different musical tastes are always achieved. Our regular engagements range from the local community fete and weddings, through to the other prestigious events such as St. James Park in London.

We are also a competitive band and compete regularly in both entertainment and set piece contests throughout Britain, and have achieved some successes along the way. However, although competitive, we also provide a number of seasonal events locally, from Carnival's to Wedding's including our popular Christmas concerts where the emphasis is most definitely placed on fun and good music. These concerts are booked a year in advance through popular demand and so booking early is essential.
